Don’t worry, SCORM files are nothing scary. No need to Google acronyms.
It is basically a ready-made training course you can upload straight into your existing LMS.
No need to rebuild or start from scratch and no absurdly long conversations with IT where everyone nods along and nothing actually happens.
You just upload it, assign it to your team and then it is ready for everyone to wiz through their new learning modules.
Why firms end up using SCORM files
Most firms are not desperate to rip out their LMS and start again. That sounds like meetings, budgets and timelines that don’t fit into their busy schedules.
What they do want is better training.

What about tracking and reporting?
Don’t worry about the files messing up your current tracking and reporting systems. Everything still works as it should.
You still get your reports. Your completions. Your audit trail.
We know no one is giving that up.
From a manager’s point of view, nothing really changes. From a learner’s point of view, the content is just… better.
Is it going to be a faff to input the SCORM files?
Less than you think. If you can upload a file, you can usually upload a SCORM package.
Naturally, each LMS has its quirks, but it is rarely the dramatic technical project people imagine.
The hardest part is often choosing which course to start with.
