The SRA Code of Conduct does not only apply to solicitors. Non-solicitor staff at authorised firms are bound by it too, whether they realise it or not.
That includes paralegals and support staff who may never have received formal training on what the code actually requires of them.
A gap in understanding here can put the firm’s authorisation at risk, not just the individual involved.
